Mushroom Foraging Fri 11th Oct 2024

  • Careys Secret Garden

Join us for a morning of wild mushroom hunting in the woodlands and grounds of Carey's Secret Garden for a 3-hour wild mushroom walk. This event will either be led by Dorset resident John Rensten, author of The Edible City-A Year of Wild Food and founder of Forage London or by local foraging guide and Dorset Fungi Group course leader, Andy Knott. The morning will include wild mushroom identification as well as collecting a few edible species. Learn the basics of safely identifying edible and poisonous mushroom species and get an understanding of how these amazing organisms protect, regulate and manage the forest ecosystem.

‘John’s foraging course was hands-on, informative, and a real sensory experience! I really enjoyed the course and his passion.’ Brie O’Keefe
