Join us for an inspiring and transformative afternoon with Steve Wyatt, founder of Restored Retro, as he shares his powerful journey from addiction to redemption. Steve will be interviewed by Simon Constantine (Secret Garden Finder) in this gentle event to explore changing attitudes and personal regeneration.
Steve, a resident of Poole, Dorset, spent 22 years in the grips of heroin and crack cocaine addiction. His path led him through three years of homelessness, three years in prison, and four years in rehab—experiences that nearly broke him.
Despite hitting rock bottom, Steve found a lifeline in the most unexpected of places: transforming battered and beaten pieces of furniture into beautiful, restored creations. This creative outlet became not just a craft, but a metaphor for his own life—a life that was once shattered, but now restored.
Now approaching a decade of sobriety, Steve is on a mission to give hope to others battling addiction. He regularly visits prisons to share his story of resilience and renewal, offering a beacon of hope to those who feel trapped in the darkness of addiction.
Don't miss this unique opportunity to hear from Steve Wyatt as he discusses his journey, the founding of Restored Retro, and how the act of restoration has become a powerful force for change in his life and the lives of others. Whether you’re seeking inspiration, looking to support a loved one, or simply want to hear a remarkable story of transformation, this event promises to be an afternoon of profound insight and hope.
Limited tickets available. Access to the Secret Garden from 1pm. The garden closes at 4pm.
