Careys Secret Garden
Another brilliant event in our Nurture with Nature children’s workshops; each focusing on a different aspect of nature… taking everyone back to their roots. Foster a lifelong interest in birds and nature.
“No bird soars too high if he soars with his own wings." Local charity Birds of Poole Harbour have partnered with Carey Secret Garden, trialing a new set of events aiming to bring birding to life for all people and ages.
This one-and-a-half-hour workshop is aimed at getting children up close and face to face with nature. It will focus on identifying birds, bird calls, and bird ringing.
Could you or your child answer any of these questions: What is classified as a bird? How many bird species are there? What is the world’s largest bird? What do scientists believe birds evolved from? What makes birds able to fly? Come along, take part and ask our Bird Experts on the day.
What to bring:
This is an outside event so please wear suitable clothing and footwear, you're welcome to bring binoculars if you have them (but not essential). Wear suitable clothing and footwear for the Great British outdoors.
This workshop is part of Carey's 'Nurture with Nature' series, a great opportunity for children to get excited about the natural world.
