Birds and the Bees Experience 2024

Join us for a truly unique and exciting experience! In this extra special event you will have the opportunity to view both the nesting Careys ospreys under the expert guidance of the Birds of Poole Harbour Team, and Careys Bee Hives with professional bee keeper Mike Horton. 

Here's your itinerary;

10.30am - 12.30pm Bee Keeping Experience with Mike - this will include both a theory and practical element. 

12.30pm - 1.30pm Buffet Lunch in the Reclaimed Barn (this will be a vegetarian buffet, please let us know if you have any other dietary requirements).

1.30pm - 3.30pm Osprey Tour with Birds of Poole Harbour, view the nest site and learn more about the incredible reintroduction project. 

Only 12 spaces available per event, please book early to avoid disappointment. 

Please meet outside the Coffee Shop in the gardens at 10.30am, your ticket includes lunch. 

The Secret Salt Pig coffee shop will be open throughout the event if you'd like to purchase additional refreshments. Please bring a reusable mug if possible to help us reduce waste. The coffee shop serves a selection of vegetarian refreshments, hot drinks and cold drinks. 

This is a weather-dependent experience and therefore if the weather prevents us from going ahead we will offer an alternative date.

We suggest wearing comfortable clothes, sturdy footwear (ideally wellies) and a peaked cap to keep the bee veil away from the face. All attendees will need to sign a liability waiver form on arrival.
